HANDMADE CURTAINS
  It is generally recognised that curtains not only dress a window but form part of the overall design scheme whether in the home, office or elsewhere. What is not always recognised is as well as the different styles, the way in which curtains are made is extremely important to their finished appearance.  
 
 
 
 
 
   
The heading to curtains can be made by hand or machine using a tape. There is a considerable saving on initial cost using the machined taped heading and when first hung there is little difference in appearance. The problems appear after the curtains have been in use for a year or more or after cleaning. The tapes are unable to support the curtains without sagging between the hooks. Since the gathering is not "locked" the fullness or gathers can move along the headings and "bunch up" giving a very uneven appearance.    
To achieve the best results we recommend that the face fabric not only be lined with a cotton sateen but interlined with "bump". The effect of interlining is important for achieving a soft and rounded out appearance to the folds of the curtain as well as adding to their wear, draught exclusion and acoustic qualities. Whatever finish you choose we endeavor to maintain the highest possible
manafacturing.

All curtains need alternative extras of some description, unless they are in some obscure place never to be seen and never to be used. Altrnatives to standard curtain design help to enhance the design quality and uplift the dramatic effect curtains can have in a room as a focal point. Alternatives we offer to all our custom made curtains range from the simplest tiebacks to the much more elaborate swags and tails.

HANDMADE PELMETS
Our pelmets can be made to any design and made up on jute buckram or 6mm ply cut to the shape that you require. For something more elaborate we offer anything from a box pleated pelmet to a gathered pelmet.
       
HANDMADE BLINDS
As with our curtain making, we also strive to maintain the highest possible standards with our selection of blinds; anything from a Festoon curtain to a Roman blind can be custom made.
HANDMADE BEDSPREADS AND VALENCES
To enhance any bedroom design, we can make up any bedspread, whether it is fitted or throw-over, to any size with the added facility of having the face fabric quilted to a number of designs. A bedspread would not be complete without having a valence to dress the bed. Once again these can be made to a number of specifications, notably gathered or box pleated.
